Best brunch in Rhodes
Slow mornings, proper coffee and eggs by the water — where to start the day on the island.
Brunch arrived in Rhodes late and then took over. What used to be a coffee and a cheese pie is now a full sit-down affair: eggs, avocado toast, pancakes and specialty coffee, served until well past noon. The island's best versions share one thing — they're built around lingering, because nobody in Greece eats breakfast quickly.
Three ways to brunch in Rhodes
Specialty coffee bars
The new town has a genuine third-wave coffee scene: single-origin filters, good espresso and a compact food menu. Best if the coffee is the main event.
Old Town courtyards
Shaded stone courtyards inside the walls, quiet before the cruise crowds arrive at 10:30. Atmospheric, and the reason to set an early alarm.
All-day marina terraces
Resto-bars at the New Marina that serve brunch with a sea view and keep going into lunch. The most comfortable option, and the easiest with a group.

Al Hayat Resto Bar — brunch by the New Marina
Al Hayat is an all-day kitchen, which means brunch here isn't squeezed into a two-hour window. Take a terrace table facing the boats, order coffee, and stay through to lunch if the morning goes that way. The menu leans Mediterranean rather than American — lighter plates, good bread, and eggs done properly.
- Burrata toast — the plate that ends up on every table — creamy, herby, generous.
- Eggs your way — classic and Mediterranean-style egg dishes, served all morning.
- Proper coffee — espresso and freddo done the Greek way, which is to say seriously.
How to plan your morning
Go before 10:30 or after 12:30
Cruise arrivals push a wave of people into Rhodes Town mid-morning. Either beat it or wait it out — the same café feels like two different places on either side of that hour.
Order coffee the local way
A freddo espresso or freddo cappuccino is the default Greek summer order, served cold and shaken. Ask for it 'metrios' if you want it lightly sweetened.
Shade beats sea view before noon
In July and August a sunlit terrace at 11:00 is hard work. Ask for a shaded table — the view is still there, and you'll actually finish your plate.
Brunch is the cheapest good meal on the island
At €15–€25 a head including coffee, it's the best value sit-down meal in Rhodes Town. Eat well in the morning and keep the evening for cocktails.
